MAKE IN INDIA CAMPAIGN | SCHEME FULL EXPLANATION
Make in India is a government scheme, launched by Honourable Prime Minister on September 25, 2014. meant to boost manufacturing sector in india.
Goals of Make in india scheme:
- Growth of 25 sectors of Indian economy.
- To grow the manufacturing contributionin national GDP to a 25%.
- Generating employment in both skilled and unskilled levels.
- To encourage, both Indian and foreign investors to invest in India for the manufacturing sector.
- To increase the number of entrepreneurs in India.
- To promote India as an favourable investment destination and a global hub in manufacturing
Why Make in india scheme:
If you check some of your items in your house, you may see "made in china" tag on most of those items. this clearly shows us our country is importing more products from china or other countries. it leads to "trade deficit"( imports of a country is more than the exports of the country), which is really bad for any country's economy. so, in order to boost the domestic
manufacturing sector and also to augment
investment into the country. The government
intends to revive the manufacturing sector in
order to increase the growth of the economy. It
will be the beginning of a new era of
production, a swadeshi movement which
Mahatma Gandhi dreamt of.
What Make in india logo depicts:
The actual logo we often see is a "powing lion with cogs"

The 'Make in India' campaign’s lion was designed by a team of indians led by creative head V.sunil of a Indian subisdary of US agency Wieden+Kennedy.( As per RTI revlealed info.)
The logo is inspired by India's strongest symbol ever-TheAshoka emblem+ a bit of RBI.
The lion depicts courage, tenacity & wisdom - all Indian values,

Four pillers of Make in india:
those are,
New process : To create ease of doing business environment. The aim is to de-license and de-regulate the industry during the entire life cycle of a business.
New sectors : Make in India’ has identified 25 sectors
to promote with the detailed information being shared
through an interactive web-portal. the 25 sectors are
Make in India website has listed 25 focus sectors and also furnishes all relevant details about these sectors and related government schemes, including the FDI policies.
New Mindset: Government in India has always been
seen as a regulator and not a facilitator. This initiative
intends to change this by bringing a paradigm shift in
the way Government interacts with various industries.
The government will act like an partner with the
corporate sector in the economic development of the
country.
Benefits Of Make in india Scheme :

Disdvantages of Make india scheme
- Manufacturing sector requires land. this may affect cultivable land.
- rapid industrialisation can lead to a depletion of natural resources.
- The manufacturing industry may cause pollution and environmental hazard.
- with Increasing manufacturing units, labour work force also increases, we need more changes in labour laws and skill development and so on.
The sectors like railways, insurance, defence
and medical devices have been opened up for
more Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). Other
permits and licenses required to start a
business have also been relaxed. Reforms are
being undertaken in areas like infrastructure,
property registration, payment of taxes, getting
power connection, enforcing contracts etc.
India is the second largest importer, after Saudi
Arabia, of defence equipments such as fighter
jets, sophisticated arms, war equipments etc.
and a huge outflow of foreign exchange occurs
on this count. Make in India can save a huge
amount of money in this context. Recently our
government has increased FDI limit in defence
industry from 49 percent to 74 percent and
issued directives for procurement of 26 spares
and military equipments from domestic
suppliers.
In the recent reform measures by the
government amid covid 19 crisis, Rs.20 lakh
crore economic packages has been announced
to help the needy labourers and migrants for
basic necessities, to revive MSME sector,
agricultural sector, other production sectors
thereby increasing economic growth,
employment opportunities and production. In a
recent message our Prime Minister has
informed that there is a good opportunity for
India to utilise covid 19 crisis to promote Make
in India, by attracting the firms which are
planning to exit from China.
By overcoming the challenges and harnessing
evolving opportunities, Make in India, a
visionary scheme can make India an
economically strong country.
